  Changing and Updates
Posted by: Rob - February 14th, 2010 02:30 PM - No Replies

Community Gamer is changing again, you may have noticed the Blog already has a new theme, and some changes have been made to the forum. However I may be ditching this forum and starting a new one from fresh, either using SMF 2.0 or MyBB, still not sure, but I have to create it so the forum can be easily, and neatly embed into the wordpress Blog.

These forums can still be used, but may not be very active. I will keep you updated.

Rob.

  Quick Update
Posted by: Rob - January 28th, 2010 06:59 PM - No Replies

Sorry about being quiet past week or so, Iv had to send my PC in for a fix, possibly a new motherboard.. and while iv spent £50 to send it back to Bolton, Im getting a new CPU Cooler too.

Not sure what is happening with Hosting-Shack at the moment, but there may be some difficulties paying for their servers, hopefully it will be ok, but I may end up trying to find a new host until Rob @ Hosting-Shack can get it back up and running.

Something else I want to do is try a new piece of web software, so far I have tryed boonex dolphin, which is free, but the extensions and themes are not, so that a bit crap.. Sad I want the forums and blog to be in the same 'thing' instead of having too separate software. I think everything now is just too messy and I want to change it. This probably wont start until the hosting is sorted, fingers crossed Hosting-Shack will be ok, they have been a great help and providing the best service on web hosting, radio hosting, and paying for my DNS thing so my domain works with their name servers.

Il keep you updated.

Yeah the competition name sucks, but atleast the prizes are reasonable! Big Grin

  Get Community Gamer Booming!
Posted by: Rob - November 13th, 2009 08:03 PM - No Replies

Hey this is another push to try get cGamer off the ground and get this community going. There is a simple thing you must do, and then you will be entered into a prize draw.

You must:

  • Have a twitter account
  • Have a Community Gamer forum account
  • Make two forum posts with that account
  • Click HERE and retweet this message, or retweet manually the follow message:

Sign up to Community Gamer http://cgamer.co.uk – Retweet this, help get the community booming! Follow @cgamer

After you have done the above bullet points, head one over to this form located here and fill in your name, twitter account name, forum name, the direct link to the retweeted message you have made on your twitter account, and a contact email address. Once this is sent, you will soon receive a forum badge as a thank you for tweeting the message. The badge below is the one you will see in the awards field when you make a forum post.

When enough people have retweeted this message, during which time I will be writing down twitter names of people who have completed the ‘task’, they will be entered into a prize draw where Battlefield Gear Codes will be up for grabs, and yet another the first 5 or 10 names drawn will receive this badge. (Not sure how many people will enter yet)

[ The Battlefield Gear Codes have been withdrawn from the prize draw prize, sorry, up to this point no one had entered ]

Get tweeting! Enjoy

As you may have noticed, community gamer now has its own radio station! This is in the hope to bring more people to the community and hopefully get this place buzzing. You can find the radio via the link on the home page at http://www.cgamer.co.uk or you can go directly to the radio page at http://www.cgamer.co.uk/radio

You can also send in your requests on this page to our radio DJ's who are currently:

DJ Rob (Me Big Grin)
DJ Mikey
DJ Slim
DJ Nathan
DJ Thomas
DJ Spoony
DJ Dyspraxic

You will also find a zip file you can download if the radio player does not work on your browser, and you cannot install the things required for it to work.

Hope you enjoy =]

Just a really short sharp update post. I have made an installation of Wordpress over at http://www.cgamer.co.uk/community

This means i have removed the blog section from the forums as it is not needed any more however the forums will still be in action with updates being posted either over at the blog, or in the forums. All announcements over here will be displayed on the portal page as always.

Final changes will be made soon making links to the new areas ect

Enjoy! :]
